Fern Spore Planting Workshop
The process of growing from spores is intriguing, with a two stage reproductive pattern for ferns. At the September meeting we will explain further, and provide materials for members and friends to try spore growing.
Members Garden Visit - The Cox Platycerium Collection.
Garden talks to cover fern spore growing experiences over the past 5 years, greenhouse expansions and environment control for this relatively young collection.
Kathy Thomson will take us to some gardens of Hawaii, by photos. As you know, Hawaii has great climates for many types of ferns. The islands have quite a few endemic species, that is, ferns that are only found in Hawaii. These gardens will provide a taste of the varied species that grow there, both Hawaiian and garden planted.
Brunch at Kris White’s house on Saturday December 9, 2023 at 11:00 am. This will be a fun final event for the year.
